The School Day

The school gate is open between 8.40 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. for children to arrive at school. Infant children should enter through the main brown gates and Junior children should enter through the main doors. There is always a member of staff supervising at both entrances. 

The gate opens at 3:25pm for school to finish at 3:30pm.

Morning playtimes

Morning playtime is 10:40am-10:55am

Lunch

Children in Reception begin their lunch break at 12:00pm, Y1 from 12:15pm, and Y2 12.20pm.  Y3 – Y6 children begin their break at 12.30pm.  Lunchtime for Reception and Y1 ends at 1.15pm.  Lunchtime for Y2 - Y6 ends at 1.30pm.

Afternoon playtimes:

Year 1 and 2 children have an afternoon playtime. Year R children have child initiated time at two points in the school day.

Access to the school playground

Reception and KS1 children access the playground via the main school gate.  The children in KS2 follow the pathway round to the School Office and access school via this way. 

Getting to school

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option if you live locally. There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely. Parents are not permitted to park in the drop off zone, this is for dropping children only. We have parking monitors in Year 6 who check that parents are parking considerately !
