Archaeological Committee
Who Are We?
We are Kings Hill School Archaeology committee and we love learning about the past. We are a committed and enthusiastic group of key stage two children who share a passion for all things historical and archaeological. We meet with Mrs Quealy every week and look at real artefacts from the past to discover and learn new things about different time periods. Each term, we have a different topic to explore and research together. At the archaeology committee, we take time to discuss, predict and note down our findings, as real archaeologists would do!
How We Make A Difference...
We are committed to participating in real archaeology and discovering why these primary sources are so important in learning about the past. By taking part in such hands-on activities, we are able to transport ourselves back in time to help us research.

Tuesday 29 March 2022 Archaeology Committee We have had a fantastic time learning all about the Mayan's this term in Archaeology club. We have been lucky enough to work with real primary sources from Maidstone Museum, learning lots about the way of life. The children were able to build on their knowledge each week, and make predictions about what the sources could be. The children have shown a brilliant attitude and have been so enthusiastic - well done Archaeologists!

We have been lucky enough to use some brilliant resources from Maidstone museum to help us learn about the past. We began our learning in term 2 by looking at some fantastic fossils and predicting what they could be. We learnt about the different kinds of fossils and where they have been found. This term, we have focused on the Aztecs, and looked at some interesting sources and considered how they lived their lives. Next term, we will be exploring the Mayan civilisation through some interesting artefacts.
